New Law In Mexico Prevents Parents From Giving Their Children Bizarre Names

Procreating American celebrities could be in trouble if this trend catches on. 

A new law in the Mexican state of Sonora bans parents from giving their newborns names that are "derogatory, pejorative, discriminatory or lacking in meaning." 

The director of the civil registry in Sonora, Christina Ramirez, told The Guardian the law seeks to prevent children from getting bullied because of their names, which could hurt their development. 

So far, the list has 61 names on it. Here are some of them:

Burger King

Robocop

Terminator

Hitler

Lady Di

Email

Virgen (Virgin)

Escroto (Scrotum)

Hermione

Batman

Usnavy (US Navy)

Micheline 

Tránsito (Traffic)

Cesárea (Cesarean)
