The Air and Water Show has returned for the 60th year in a row! Whether you're a city veteran or are just as clueless as I am to navigating the Windy City; this list will make your day just a little more manageable when trying to find the perfect spot to catch the show from.
Most people who venture down to catch the show will head to the beach for a front row experience but if you're looking for something a different, I've got you. These are the top 3 locations that aren't the beach (sorry North Ave) to get the same killer views.
1. The Willis Tower
What better way to get up close and personal with those U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds then sitting way, way up. The Willis Tower aka The Sears Tower hosts a cloud-level picnic supplying you with boujee goodness for $100 a plate. But, if you aren't trying to fork over that much you can get an equally breathtaking view for under $15 at the John Hancock Center.
2. Cindy's Rooftop
If heights just aren't your things then kick back on the ground, well, kind of. Enjoy a beautiful and delicious cocktail off Michigan Ave at one of Chicago's favorite rooftop bars. Not only will you get a totally Instagram worthy view of the festivities, Cindy's has some of the best views of Michigan Ave, as well.
3. The water!
Let your adventurous side come out to play by skipping landing and heading out to the water. If you don't have a friend with a boat, well, get better friends OR rent your own. The Chicago Electric Boat Company has BYOB pontoons available for rental. Or if you really want to get in on the action you can rent paddle boards from Chicago SUP rents on North Ave Beach for $33 an hour.
