Lil Nas X Announces 'Time Off' From Music After Canceling Two Shows

2019 iHeartRadio Music Festival And Daytime Stage

Lil Nas X announced he's taking a break from music after pulling out of two recent concert performances.

Remember when the rodeo rapper said he was going to ride until he can’t no more? Apparently, that time has finally arrived, as the musician revealed he would not be making his scheduled appearances at TwitchCon in San Diego, California, on Saturday (September 28) nor the Sandbox Music Festival in Mesa, Arizona, on Sunday (September 29).

“It’s been a wild last 7 months and im ready to take a little time off,” the 20-year-old tweeted Friday (September 27). “Sorry to everyone attending twitchcon or the sandbox music festival, i will not be there. i love u guys and will make it up to you some way.”

Nas X has more than deserved time to himself after his astounding breakout year.

After all, the lyricist’s Song of Summer hit “Old Town Road” — which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks straight — officially became the longest-running number-one record in Billboard history, dethroning Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s decades-long reign. Not to mention, the “Panini” star was praised and embraced by fans and celebrities alike after coming out as gay earlier this year on World Pride Day.

The emcee’s break comes after he performed at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Festival at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last weekend.
