Wendy Williams is defending herself against accusations that she farted on-air during a recent episode of her talk show â and her explanation is⊠interesting, to say the least.
During Thursdayâs morning broadcast of The Wendy Williams Show, the star denied passing gas during her Hot Topics segment, basically implying what we heard was all in our heads. âLet me tell you something right now, okay? I donât lean over like this to release a fart, I lean over like this because itâs comfortable,â Williams said. âIf I sit [straight up] all the time, itâs heavy on my spine. I like to release my hips and lean. Iâve been doing this for 11 years on this show.â
âI have never farted once on this show,â she claimed. âAs a matter of fact, I barely fart, you know why? Gas gets released several different ways and mine is belching because all I do is talk.â Williams went on to admit that, had she farted, she would have used the blooper as comedic material for the show.
âBy the sound of that fart, I would have had to go change my costume, I would have left a mark in the seat,â she quipped. âI wouldnât even save the costume, Iâd throw it away. Itâd be soiled beyond soiled-tivity.â
She then offered up an interesting theory behind the noise, somehow implicating one of her stagehands, who said the "farting" sound viewers heard was evidently from an accident backstage involving a âsputteringâ water hose they were using to fill a fish tank for a segment later in the show.
