Kelsea Ballerini Calms Her Anxiety Singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'

As the country continues to battle through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kelsea Ballerini and many others are struggling with fear and anxiety. Every individual has their own way to cope but for the country star, it's through music.

On Thursday (April 2), Ballerini turned to social media to share a song she sings whenever she starts to worry. Sitting on her floor dressed in blue jeans and a denim button up top, Ballerini sang an a cappella version of the classic, 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow."

"Somewhere over the rainbow way up high / There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby / Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue / And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true," she sings in the clip.

Alongside the clip, Ballerini wrote, "when I was a little girl, this song always brought me peace when life felt uneasy and calmed my anxiety. still works."

Many fans responded to the video sharing how Ballerini's music has helped them through this difficult season in life. "As of late, my strategy for easing my anxiety has been listening to your album," one fan wrote. Another added, "thank you for this kb. much needed. love you."

At this time, health officials with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have confirmed more than 213,144 cases of the coronavirus in the United States and 4,513 deaths. Globally, the virus has infected more than 896,400 people and killed more than 45,500 according to the World Health Organization.
