More info about the Comp Tab Relief Fund:

***This fund is an alliance between Support Staff and Pilot Light Chefs to benefit out of work hospitality workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and all funds raised here will be used for said purposes. To donate to Pilot Light's year-round efforts of teaching children to make healthier choices by connecting the lessons they learn in their classrooms to the foods they eat on their lunch trays, at home and in their communities, click here.

In recent weeks, the food, beverage, and hospitality industries have been heavily affected by COVID-19. Related closures, cease of operations, and stay-home sanctions have left hundreds of thousands of Illinois hospitality professionals unemployed and in high risk of imminent poverty.

In light of this, Support Staff, in collaboration with Pilot Light, and a variety of community advocates, have created the Comp Tab Relief Fund. This fund is a citywide campaign to ensure safety, financial security, and reliable access to resources for those in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries.

Our Mission:

Comp Tab is a community-based relief fund created by and for hospitality professionals, and will be a collective and equitable source of financial aid and resources for those in Chicagoland immediately affected by statewide closures.

We are currently reaching out to a variety of members of our community to enact modes of support, advocacy, resource-pooling, and collaborative solutions. It is imperative that we act swiftly and in unity to provide aid for those recently left without income, child care, health safety, regular meals, or support networks. There are many businesses that have set up funds to attempt to collect aid for their staff members - yet many have not.

Comp Tab is open to ANY and ALL hospitality professionals, and funds will be disbursed on a need basis. To insure we are intersectional and inclusive in our aid, we have worked dilligently to create an application that takes all financial, economic, household, health, and hospitality positions into consideration.
