Drake is coming out with a new project.
Champagne Papi made the surprise announcement on Wednesday night (August 12) with what appears to be the first glimpse of a new music video, arriving at midnight.
âTMRW MIDNIGHT đ€â Drake wrote on Instagram with an 11-second clip of the rapper, donning a black suit, swerving on the water in a yellow jet ski near a mansion as another rider trails behind him in the distance.
Without giving any context clues away, itâs likely the video is signaling the first official single release from the Canadian wordsmithâs long-awaited new album, which has previously been confirmed to be at least â90 percentâ finished.
Drakeâs follow-up to 2018âs Scorpion is all fans have been waiting for, though heâs put out a charitable volume of material to tide us over in the interim. After all, it was only a few months ago when he released his warm-up effort, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which gave us earworms like âToosie Slideâ and âChicago Freestyleâ with Giveon. The offering also saw Drake team up with the likes of Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Fivio Foreign, and Chris Brown.
Since then, the lyricist has been lending his talents to a variety of tracks as a featured artist, including on Headie Oneâs âOnly You Freestyleâ and on âPopstarâ and âGreeceâ from DJ Khaledâs upcoming twelfth studio album.
While youâre waiting to see what Drake has in store tonight, you should know an unreleased song from his vault, ostensibly titled âIntoxicated,â leaked online earlier this week.
