Tayshia Adams Talks Clare Crawley's 'Bizarre' Season Of 'The Bachelorette'

Tayshia Adams is speaking out about Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette for the first time ever. For those who managed to avoid spoilers for the current season: avert your eyes now. For those who kept up with every juicy rumor over the summer, it's been reported that Adams replaces Crawley midway through the season, however, ABC never confirmed the speculation. During a recent interview, though, Adams confirmed she was on set at the La Quinta resort in Palm Springs while the show was filming.

While Adams didn't give too much away about what's to come, she did share some insight into her experience. "I thought it was so interesting how many people and how many times they referenced like, 'This is the first time I hugged somebody in, like, six months or, like, holding hands even,'" Adams said of the reality dating show amid the ongoing pandemic.

"It's just, that’s just the way of the world lately, and I couldn’t imagine having that much freedom because we’ve been having to put masks on every single day," she continued. "So to be able to, like, walk around and date and kiss and hold and do all that stuff without a mask is kind of bizarre."

Fans will have to keep tuning in to The Bachelorette to see what really went down in Palm Springs this summer. As for Crawley, however, she's voiced her support for Adams taking over her starring role. "I wanted Tayshia as the Bachelorette... like, I support her," Clare told Entertainment Tonight. "I think she's beautiful, I think she's a very grounded woman, a woman who knows what she wants. I completely support that, I supported her....I've wanted her to be the Bachelorette forever. I always was for that."

The Bachelorette airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
