My Block My Hood My City is doing a Downtown Day. The youth that 'My Block My Hood My City' serves only live a few miles away from downtown Chicago, yet many of them express that they have never been there. MBMHMC wants to change that.
On July 8th, My Block My Hood My City will host a citywide event where they aim to bring 1,000 youth ages 13-22 to explore downtown. Youth will receive $50 exploration cards to purchase good food, cultural items, and activities such as going to the movie theaters, a cultural concert, and so much more as they travel around downtown.
