One extremely fortune Illinois lottery player is over a million dollars richer after picking up a winning ticket from a Chicago market as part of Lucky Day Lotto's August 17th midday drawing.
According to an Illinois Lottery press release, the individual, whose name has yet to be publicly revealed, matched all five numbers as part of the drawing to win the grand prize. The winning numbers in question were 10-11-19-33-35, and led the jackpot champion to the top prize of $1.3 million. The ticket that brought the winner so much fortune was purchased at the Shop & Save Market at 5829 South Archer Avenue on Chicago’s southwest side, near the Midway Airport.
Illinois Lottery reported that 35,000 tickets were sold for the drawing but only one came out victorious. The lucky Illinois resident is not the only individual that will benefit from the major lottery win. The Shop & Save Market will also receive a $13,000 bonus just for being the store to sell the winning ticket to the lottery player.
Winners have exactly one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Should they misplace their ticket, the money will go to the Illinois Common School Fund to be distributed to public schools across the state for necessary school supplies.
Illinois' next Lucky Day Lotto drawing will take place on Wednesday (August 21) at 9:22 p.m.
