The Owners Of Taylor Swift's Old Songs Won't Let Her Perform Them On TV

2018 American Music Awards - Arrivals

Since the end of the summer, Taylor Swift has been in a battle for older half of her catalog of music. Big Machine sold off all of Taylor Swift's old music to the entertainment managing mogul, Scooter Braun. Since the catalog has been in his possession, he's been quiet about his stance but definitely won't give Taylor access to it. Swift has been encouraged by other female artists to re-record her old songs to regain ownership but she isn't legally allowed to begin that process until next year. Unfortunately, 2020 can't come soon enough because this imaginary wall between her and her music is hindering her from upcoming television endeavors. Taylor Swift took to social media today to get out her frustration, claiming she can't do a medley of her songs upon being awarded Artist Of The Decade at the AMAs. On top of that, it's also slowing down the process of a (now not so) secret documentary that's being produced by Netflix. Hear it in her words below.
