Way back in the Fall of 2020, when things were looking their worst, a class action lawsuit that was initially filed against Facebook back in 2015 began to pick up steam. Plaintiff Carlo Licata claimed Facebook was illegally using face templates on about 7 million Illinois residents. Though it's taken some time, Facebook now has to pay out $650 million to our great midwestern state meaning everyone who signed up for the money between September and November of last year could be seeing up to $350 in the mail within the coming months. Thats about 1 in 5 Illinois residents or roughly 1.6 million of us. And during this "trying times" we definitely need it!
