Chicago Stores Could Be Banned From Selling Alcohol Past 10PM

Remember in quarantine (where it was already scary enough just leaving the house) when, if you wanted alcohol, you had to make sure you went to your local grocer, convenient store, etc. buy 9 p.m. or you were completely out of luck? Well, Mayor Lori Lightfoot wants to take us back to the good old days! While this unpopular curfew was set in place at the height of the pandemic, and for good reason, the Chicago mayor is looking to make the curfew, now set to 10 p.m. permanent. On Wednesday, this new proposal was introduced fom her office to City Council as a set of changes that would help businesses bounce back post-pandemic. More below.
