Taylor Swift has a hopeful outlook about entering a new decade of her life.
As Swifties know, the singer-songwriter has a special day ahead of her this upcoming week as she celebrates her 30th birthday on Friday (December 13).
The meaningful milestone is just the latest in a string of triumphs for the pop star, who in this year alone, earned her sixth number-one album with her seventh LP, Lover, honored her Artist of the Decade title at the 2019 American Music Awards last month with a groundbreaking medley of her greatest hits, and was most recently named one of four People of the Year.
A week ahead of turning the big 3-0, Swift dished to PEOPLE about the dos and donâts sheâs living by to make the most of life as she enters her 30s. âThere are certain parts of my brain that I donât visit as often, like stressing out about my body, stressing out about being on trend, stressing out about people thinking Iâm cool, stressing out about people thinking really anything about me,â Swift admits in the latest issue of PEOPLE.
âYou have to toss out things that donât serve you. Thatâs what I think we all try to do when weâre getting older, and you just hope that youâre getting wiser too!â the âME!â expressed. âIâve been told by a lot of people [your 30s] are really fun, and Iâm having a really good time approaching them.â
Swift went on to name The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil as a source of inspiration on embracing the changes that come with getting older. "She talks about how we should just be not so much body-positive, but body-neutral,â said Swift. âWe shouldnât be thinking about them as much as we do, and I really like that. People like that who make solid points like that make me feel more chill about life.â
