Ghosting is nothing compared to "cloaking." The latest dating term to terrify all single individuals out there is called âcloakingâ and it's like ghosting times 10.
As Sisanie explained to Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, April 12, cloaking someone means to completely vanish -- as in not show up for the date and then disappear off the face of the earth entirely.
âCloaking is when a person doesnât just stand you up for a date, they also block you on any app that youâve previously communicated on,â said Rachel Thompson, a Mashable contributor who shared her experience being âcloakedâ for the first time earlier this month with Fox News Lifestyle.
As Thompson explained, the phrase âcloakingâ describes a person using a cloaking device to conceal themselves from sight. For example, the two people meet on a dating app and after he or she stands the other person up, they also delete all prior communication, texts and app associations.Â
