Ricky Martin used music as his âmedicineâ during COVID-19 quarantine lockdown. The singer Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, June 19, and shared that creating surprise EP Pausa was just what he needed.
âI started working on this album like nine months ago and Iâm telling you in lockdown magic happened,â Ricky shared. âThe album was going to be called Movement and obviously thatâs not what we are so I said, âHold on a second, let me divide the album in two.â Iâm first going to release Pausa, Pause, with a more introspective sound, mid-tempos, ballads and then later on Iâm going to release Play and itâs going to be all about the rhythmic sounds that I usually perform. Itâs having an excuse to re-release an album once again and this is my medicine,â he added. âThis has been my medicine.â
The album features collabs with the likes of Bad Bunny, Sting and more.
âItâs all about letting go of the fear that we were all going through and the uncertainty,â Ricky concluded.
Ricky teased that Play will drop likely in September or October.
