Elementary school kids in California created a pep talk hotline to boost spirits; now, their cheerful project is a book titled "You Are Amazing Like a Rocket."
Dial 707-8PEPTOC (707-873-7862) to hear the kindergarten through 6th grade students from West Side Elementary in Healdsburg, California, share advice on how to grapple with anger, frustration, anxiety or simply for a mood boost.
When you dial the number, a child's voice guides you through a simple phone tree:
- Press 1: If you feel mad, frustrated, or nervous
- Press 2: For words of encouragement and life advice
- Press 3: For a direct pep talk from kindergarteners
- Press 4: To hear kids laughing with delight
- Press 5: For encouragement in Spanish
