At my house, we're a Lester Holt house...my wife and I have just always watched the NBC Nightly News. In the battle of the major network evening news, Holt's broadcast and ABC Evening News with David Muir are consistently rated higher than the CBS Evening News. CBS has gone through more anchors while ABC and NBC have been more consistent.
Norah O'Donnell took over the anchor spot last summer and it was announced then that they would be moving the show from the traditional New York City location to Washington D.C. CBS made that move this week, revealing a brand new set. With all the turmoil in Washington and the upcoming Presidential election, CBS is hoping to get a bump in ratings. All three have originated from NYC for decades.
