Jaw-dropping footage captured a bizarre highway incident near Chicago on Tuesday (November 30).

A passerby in another vehicle managed to record the video of the surprising scene on Interstate 294 in Cook County. It shows the front of a car jammed under a semi truck, being dragged down the tri-state tollway as the truck driver continues moving. The incident reportedly happened around 11:40 a.m. that day, near mile marker 30.

In the cell phone video — which Fox 32 notes was recorded by Grzegorz Buczynski, of Justice, Illinois — viewers can also see the driver waving from the window as her vehicle is hauled down the interstate, leaving a trail of smoke and dust.

The driver was Laylisha Gardner, 19. She was apparently trying to switch lans when her Honda Accord somehow became lodged underneath the truck, the Daily Mail reports. The truck driver, Mohamed Yousif, 52, apparently hadn’t noticed, but ultimately pulled over so Gardner could be rescued from the crash.

Illinois State Police confirmed to news outlets that no injuries were reported during the unusual incident. Two highway lanes closed for about 15 minutes as law enforcement officials responded at the scene.
