Chicago Spots to Celebrate National Tequila Day!

Todays is National Tequila Day and here are ways to celebrate around Chicago! Margaritas are my favorite so I may try some of these today...

1.       Cindy’s

Siempre, Si: The subtle heat on this Margarita marries perfectly with notes of juicy pineapple and ripe apricot. Made with Lunazul Reposado tequila, Blume Marillen apricot eau-de-vie, pineapple, fresno chili, and lime.

Available as an individual for $15 and also available spirit-free with seedlip spice 94, pineapple, fresno chili, verjus, and lime ($14).

2.       The Lobby Lounge at JW Marriott Chicago

Fresa Rhu: Made with Piedra Azul Blanco Tequila, seasonal rhubarb, Grand Marnier, lime, and strawberry agave, this cocktail is a taste of refreshing summer in a glass perfect for celebrating National Tequila Day.

Individual cocktail available for $15

3.       Arbella

Trankilo Melón ($14) – featuring tequila, pisco, melon, citrus and Thai chili dimmi along with an extra special “joint” of a garnish comprised of dried rosemary and sage. Sip, Sip, pass says the team at Arbella.

4.       Tanta

El Chingon ($13)—A spicy and smoky play on a margarita with jalapeno-infused tequila, mezcal, lime and cilantro with a rocoto pepper ice ball. The drink gets spicier as the ice melts, releasing more of the rocoto chili into the cocktail.

5.       Travelle Kitchen + Bar

The Midnight Train to Portland, a jet-lag remedy and the perfect pick-me-up, is made with Pinot Noir, Espresso Tequila, pear wine, and aromatic bitters

The cocktail costs $12 and is available anytime at the bar

6.       Upstairs at The Gwen

Margarita Oscuro ($16) – casamigos reposado tequila, mezcal, lemon ginger cordial, orange bitters, molé bitters, muddled jalapeño, activated charcoal

7.       LH Rooftop

Spicy Paloma: This large format summer sipper at LondonHouse Chicago’s tri-level restaurant and rooftop is made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila and Owen’s Grapefruit + Lime mixer.

Serves 10; $150

8.       I|O Godfrey

Chef’s Margarita: One of the signature kitchen cocktails at the all-seasons rooftop bar and restaurant, the Chef’s Margarita is crafted by Executive Chef Nathaniel Cayer with gently blended fresh grapefruit and lime juices, Don Julio Blanco, Cointreau, and Cointreau Noir with a signature habanero salt air foam.

Available in individual ($15) or larger format serving four ($52)
