Ellie Goulding Talks About New Album

Ellie Goulding is back and better than ever. She recently sat down with The Guardian to talk about life leading up to the release of her forthcoming 4th studio album.

Ellie states that after she finished her last tour, she moved to New York and was “depleted of any artistic inspiration”. She was able to take her time recording this album and did not feel pressure to release it before she was ready.

On an unreleased song from that album, “Love I’m Given”, Ellie talks about recently getting engaged and “reflecting on how I finally felt I’d found this person that was loving me for the right reasons”/

Another song “Flux” is about “thinking about the person who you almost ended up with” and “Electricity”is “about a friend who had been cheated on quite cruelly for a couple of years”.

Without naming names, Ellie touches on Ed Sheeran’s song “Don’t” saying “Somebody tried to write a song to damage me, and it was a really horrifying thing to go through”.

Also, for those that don’t know, Ellie is a large activist for climate change and is even brining that part of her time to her tour transportation saying, “we’re trying to make my tour completely plastic free, and cut down on flights, with a better eco-bus situation.”
