Kate Hudson launched her own gluten-free vodka brand yesterday! I'm excited about this because I'm gluten free...lol. The Daily Mail has more info on it:
Today the 40-year-old Golden Globe-winning actress announced the arrival of King St. Vodka, her own spirit brand that she's been working on for a year.
'I have always found the spirits industry fascinating, and I love Dirty Vodka Martinis, ' she said in a press release.
Kate got hands-on with the fun new project, explaining that it she first decided to dive into the world of spirit production when she realized that there were no major female-founded vodka companies on the market.
'After a particularly long day, I decided to host an impromptu cocktail party with my closest friends,' she recalled in a release.
'As I prepared to whip up a batch of dirty vodka martinis I surveyed my bar, but I wasn’t 100 per cent happy with my options. Then I wondered, “Are any of these vodkas founded by women?” I did some research, they weren’t. So, I decided to make my own just the way I like it!
'The creative side of me thought it would be a fun challenge to develop a vodka for my palate, and in a beautiful package that I would love to have on my bar and share with friends,' she continued.
'The businessperson in me is now looking forward to the challenge of building a brand in an entirely new industry.'
Businessperson Kate has a whole lot of ventures under her belt, including cofounding the activewear brand Fabletics as well as a fashion line called Happy X Nature.
Apparently the brand is named after a street she once lived on in New York.
