This was a rather bold thing to say. After Ariana Grande's performance at Aretha Franklin's funeral, Bishop Ellis brought her to the podium and said:
I've got to apologize, because, I have to brush up. My 28 year old daughter tells me that you are old at 60. When I saw Ariana Grande on the program, I thought that was a new something at Taco Bell.
WHAT?! Who says that? It was received well from the audience and Ariana Grande was polite through it all but you can't say that wasn't weird. Like of all the things you could've done to thank her for her contributions, I don't think that was it. He did go on to "give her all her respect" however and called her an icon. His hand is in a weird place as well. Awkward interaction overall.
