Becoming the longest-running primetime scripted series at ABC, Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for season 20!
Their latest season saw the sad departure of its main character since its inception in 2005, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hospital drama has also named Meg Marinis as showrunner for the 2023-24 season; she’ll take over for Krista Vernoff, who is stepping away from Grey’s and its spinoff Station 19 at the end of their runs this spring.
Grey’s Anatomy is the first ABC drama to secure a pickup for next season. It joins comedy Abbott Elementary on the network’s slate for 2023-24.
