Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle spent some time early in her career on the NBC hit show, Deal or No Deal from 2006-2007.
Apparently, her time was not very well spent. On her podcast Archetypes, she explains that “I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t the focus of why we were there and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach...it was solely about beauty, and not necessarily about brains."
According to an interview with Variety, chief content officer Lucas Green says that the show is working on being seen in a better light than in the past. "We are constantly evolving the format so that it isn’t the same show it was 15 plus years ago,” he said. “A lot of work goes into modernizing our formats to ensure they represent our values as a company and wider society.”
