Mean Girls, the musical, is in theaters next Friday January 12th!
The musical adaptation by original cast member Tina Fey was first announced in 2020.
“It was about: How do we do the best of the musical, plus the best of the original?” Lorne Michaels, who produced both the original film and the new movie, told Entertainment Weekly in December of the new Mean Girls. “It isn’t a remake, it’s a new interpretation. It feels like a familiar enough story, but it’s for today.”
