Post Malone delivered “a Christmas miracle” to a single mother grappling with having to spend the holiday apart from her 9-year-old daughter.

Renee Brown, 36, was working the night of Christmas Eve, with her shift stretching into Christmas morning, at The Railyard in Houston, Texas. She recently spoke with Music Mayhem about the generous $20,000 tip she received from Post Malone, 29, whose real name is Austin Post. Brown told the outlet that she works two jobs to support herself and her daughter, whom she home schools. The mother-daughter duo typically spend Christmas Eve baking cookies and watching movies together.

Brown wrote in a December 27 post on her social media accounts that “going into work Christmas Eve, I was so sad I had to leave baby girl [Iliana, 9] to go to work. Oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle. This is hands down the most humble, personable celebrity I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He changed my life on Christmas f***ing Eve, and will forever be grateful. Thank you so much, Austin.”

Post Malone, Shaboozey and others arrived at The Railyard that evening, one day before appearing in Beyoncé’s star-studded NFL halftime show on Christmas Day. Brown said she was skeptical at first when others told her that the F-1 Trillion artist was at the establishment, but when she realized it was true, she “told all my regulars not to be weird and bug him as it’s a neighborhood dive bar, and I’m sure he picked a place like that to feel a sense of normalcy.” she told Music Mayhem that Post’s presence “lifted the spirits of the entire bar.”

Some of the bar’s regulars and some of the star’s friends covered Post Malone’s tab, which he realized when he asked for his check at the end of the night. Brown said he insisted on paying so he could leave a tip, so Brown charged him $1, a photo of the receipt shows. Brown told Music Mayhem she “immediately broke down crying” when she realized Post Malone left a tip for $20,000. “It was a very emotional night already… I finally got a chance to stop cleaning and talk to him some more and thank him. I know I was crying and thanking him, but he has no ideas exactly how much this meant to me.”
