Wheel of Fortune’s latest show will include an Illinois woman who grew up solving puzzles.

Sandy Wadlington, of Glenwood, is a registered nurse of 35 years and a “die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bars fan,” Wheel of Fortune noted in its introduction of Wadlington. The Illinoisan is a mother of one and a godmother to seven, and “loves to embarrass” them. Wadlington keeps herself busy working with her sorority, helping young students prep for college, raising awareness in the arts and more.

Wadlington has watched Wheel of Fortune for more than four decades, including as a child, when she and her father competed against one another to solve puzzles.

“I didn't know he was helping me improve my spelling,” she said. “I did the same with my children…My Dad would so happy and proud.”

Wadlington plans to take a trip and donate to her church if she wins any money on the show, according to Wheel of Fortune.

She’s not the only Illinoisan to appear on the beloved game show this week: Nita Dailey, of Chicago, took a spin at the Wheel in an episode that aired Tuesday evening (October 12).

Watch Wadlington on ABC 7 at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (October 15).
