Illinois is home to tons of restaurants that won’t break the bank — but when you’re looking to splurge, one restaurant in Chicago might be the best place.

Love Food, the publisher that dubs itself “the tastiest guide on the web,” spotlighted the most expensive restaurant in every state. Here's how they figured out which restaurant is the most expensive one in the whole state: “We’ve scoured the country for the most expensive restaurant in every state, based on the priciest main course and excluding places that only offer prix fixe or tasting menus.”

So, which one stands out the most in Illinois? Brindille, located on North Clark Street in Chicago. Here’s why Love Food says it stands out:

“Chicago’s renowned dining scene includes some spectacular (and spectacularly expensive) tasting menus, allowing chefs to showcase seasonal ingredients with flair. Beautiful Brindille sticks with classic à la carte options, with fine French cuisine like the hefty rib-eye with pommes frites – the priciest main at $92 (£68). It isn’t the most expensive thing on offer here, though. That gilded, diamond-encrusted crown goes to the Beluga Hybrid Reserve Caviar, $295 (£220) for just over 1oz (30g).”
