It was a busy week of sports with the NFL Draft, NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, and the NHL Draft Lottery just to name a couple big events.

Sooo, let's get right to it.

It's no secret, the Chicago Blackhawks did not end their season the way majority of fans, players or coaches anticipated. They missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

Well, here's some uplifting news after the annual NHL Draft Lottery, the Blackhawks organization has been given the 8th overall draft pick this year. Despite some fans being upset that the team wasn't given the 1st overall pick, let's keep in mind they only had a 6.5% chance of that actually happening.

If that doesn't give you hope for the future, maybe knowing their younger talent hasn't taken their foot off the gas pedal will. Minor league, AHL affiliate team, the Rockford Icehogs swept the Chicago Wolves in the first-round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.  They won in triple-overtime and added a handful of franchise records to their resume. They begin their second-round in Manitoba against the Moose on Friday.

The NFL Draft was this past week and the Chicago Bears drafted linebacker, Roquan Smith with the 8th overall pick. To get to know the former Georgia Bulldog better click here.

Also, congratulations to Carol Stream native and Northwestern running back, Justin Jackson for being drafted by the LA Chargers. Jackson is Northwestern's all-time leading rusher with 5,440 yards, which is 3rd in Big Ten history.

After Game 7 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers, LeBron James has officially passed Michael Jordan for highest PPG in Game 7's. Sunday night James notched 45-points, 9-rebounds, and 7-assists in just 43 minutes of playing time. The next highest scorer was teammate, Tristan Thompson who notched a double-double with 15-points. Saying he put the team on his back might be an understatement.
